Week 3: Mesh Mashup - Selection and Refinement
Week 3: Mesh Mashup - Selection and Refinement
Original Tinkercad Design:
I did not end up going with the object I thought I would after the small group meeting. My group did provide me with great insight into what I could do with some of my objects, but most of the ideas had more to do with adding scenery rather than adding to the object itself. Using the mushroom mug object and making it into a house was an idea I came up with on my own but I did ask the group what they thought about it. They agreed that it would be a good idea.
When I started designing the final I decided to revise the base object to make the design more interesting and give myself more to work with. So I traded out the mug for the teacup. This proved to be a good decision because it allowed for more surface area to place windows and doors. And the spout allowed me to further the detail even more, something that I would not be able to do if I stuck with the mug.
My final design relates to remix culture by being a mashup of various pre existing designs. I ended up using a total of 6 designs from thingiverse, some of which I edited and coloured to better fit the design. I also had to design and sculpt a few parts completely on my own, such as the smoke. This made for the end result to be quite an extensive remix.
