Week 3: Mesh Mashup - Selection and Refinement

Week 3: Mesh Mashup - Selection and Refinement  Original Tinkercad Design: Final Meshmixer Design: I did not end up going with the object I thought I would after the small group meeting. My group did provide me with great insight into what I could do with some of my objects, but most of the ideas had more to do with adding scenery rather than adding to the object itself. Using the mushroom mug object and making it into a house was an idea I came up with on my own but I did ask the group what they thought about it. They agreed that it would be a good idea. When I started designing the final I decided to revise the base object to make the design more interesting and give myself more to work with. So I traded out the mug for the teacup. This proved to be a good decision because it allowed for more surface area to place windows and doors. And the spout allowed me to further the detail even more, something that I would not be able to do if I stuck with the mug. My final design relates t...

Week 2 - Mesh Mashup: Concept Generation

Week 2 - Mesh Mashup: Concept Generation Remix culture refers to the creation of new products and designs from the mixing of pre-existing ones.  1. Knife Heel Thingiverse links: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:273293 (shoe) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4718643 (knife) One of the first objects that I thought would be good to combine something with was a shoe. I found this heel and decided that I should add something onto the back in the place of the heel.  2. Mushmug Thingiverse links: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:24464 (mug) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1233686 (mushroom cap) I got this idea when I glanced at a few items that I keep on my desk. I have a small mushroom figure and a cup of coffee, and I thought that they would make an interesting combination. 3. Lamppost bench Thingiverse links:  https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3086170 (lampost) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4056459 (bench) For this one I wanted to try and make something more practica...

Week 1: Objectified Response

Image
Week One OBDF 110A: Objectified Response For this assignment I decided to create a 3D design of a toothbrush. At various points in the documentary a toothbrush is shown, and I thought it would be an interesting object to re-create. I did not want to choose something too overly complex since I am new to 3D digital designs but I still wanted to make something that allowed me to experiment with the different shapes and tools offered in Tinkercad. I did not base my design on a specific brand or image of a toothbrush in the documentary but instead used my own design ideas.
